THE ADVICE OF AN OLD BALUCH TO HIS SON

Ho tere bayaabaan ki hawaa tujh ko gawaaraa.
Is shehar se bahtar he na Dilli na Bukaahraa.

Jis simt meyn chaahe sifat-e-sayl-e-rawaan chal.
Waadi ye hamaari he wo sahraa bhi hamaraa.

Gherat he bari cheez jahaan-e-tag-o-dou meyn.
Pahnaati he darwesh ko taaj-e-sar-e-daaraa.

Haasil kisi kaamil sey ye poshida hunar kar.
Kahte heyn ke shisha ko banaa sakte heyn khaaraa.

Afraad ke haathon meyn he aqwaam ki taqdeer.
Har fard hey millat ke muqaddar ka sitaaraa.

Taqdeer-e-Umam kia he koi keh naheen saktaa.
Momin ki firasat ho to kaafi he ishaaraa.

Akhlaas-e-amal maan nayagaan-e-kuhan se.
"Shaahaan che ajab gar bnwaznd gadara!"
